[¶0] 1 When Israel went forth from Egypt, The house of Jacob from a people barbarous;

[¶1] 2 [Then] was Judah for his holiness, Israel, his dominions.

[¶2] 3 The sea saw, and fled, Jordan was turned backward.

[¶3] 4 The mountains leaped as rams, The hills as the lambs of the flock.

[¶4] 5 What ailed thee, O sea! that thou fleddest? And thou, O Jordan! that thou wast turned back?

[¶5] 6 Ye mountains, that ye leaped like rams; Ye hills, as the lambs of the flock?

[¶6] 7 At the presence of the Lord, tremble, O earth! At the presence of the God of Jacob;

[¶7] 8 Who turned the rock into pools of water, The flinty rock into a fountain of waters.
