[¶0] To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David

[¶1] 1 The heavens recount the glory of God; And the works of his hands proclaim doth the expanse.

[¶2] 2 Day unto day poureth forth speech; And night unto night publisheth knowledge.

[¶3] 3 There is no speech and no language, Where is not heard their voice.

[¶4] 4 Through all the earth hath gone forth their writing, And to the extremity of the world their words: For the sun he hath set a tabernacle in them,

[¶5] 5 And he as a bridegroom goeth forth from his chamber; He exulteth as a strong man to run his course.

[¶6] 6 From one extremity of the heavens is his going forth, And his circuit to the utmost limits thereof, And no person is hidden from his heat.

[¶7] 7 The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of Jehovah is faithful, instructing in wisdom the babes;

[¶8] 8 The statutes of Jehovah are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes;

[¶9] 9 The fear of Jehovah is clean, enduring for ever; The judgments of Jehovah are truth, they are justified together.

[¶10] 10 More desirable [are they] than gold, and much fine gold; And sweeter than honey, and the dropping of honeycombs.

[¶11] 11 Moreover, thy servant is made circumspect by them; And in their observance the reward is great.

[¶12] 12 His errors who can understand? From my hidden sins cleanse thou me.

[¶13] 13 Likewise from presumptuous sins restrain thou thy servant, That they may not have dominion over me; Then upright shall I be and clean from much wickedness.

[¶14] 14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart be acceptable Before thee, O Jehovah! my strength and my Redeemer.
